Safety Training Covers Use of Spray Foam Equipment

Proper use of spray foam equipment—including operating the equipment in a safe and efficient manner—is essential for safety reasons, as well as to avoid unnecessary costs as a result of wasted materials.

Ensuring that all employees are educated on the correct techniques for using this equipment should be a top priority for any contractor or business that works with spray foam materials.

Fortunately, there are some resources available that make it very easy to provide this sort of training to employees in a convenient way. The American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) offers a Spray Polyurethane Foam Chemical Health and Safety Training program that has been used by many contractors and building professionals across the country.

This training is offered in two options: one for low-pressure SPF, the other for high-pressure SPF. Each provides information about the use, handling and disposal of SPF, potential health hazards and control measures, including engineering controls and personal protective equipment (PPE).

These courses have been approved by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and RCI, Inc. Continuing Education Hours (CEHs).

The training can be completed totally online, at your own schedule. After completing the course units, students will take a multiple-choice test. Achieving a passing grade on this test will signify successful completion of the course.
