Spray Foam Helps Makes Buildings Stronger

Many people are already aware of the most well-known (and very popular) benefits of spray foam insulation—namely, that it helps make buildings airtight and allows for energy efficiency and utility savings.

However, there’s an additional benefit that can really be valuable to property owners—especially those in hurricane regions or other storm-prone areas.

As this release from the Spray Foam Coalition notes, spray foam can help strengthen buildings and make them more durable. The release notes that spray foam can increase a building’s resistance to wind uplift during severe storms when applied to the interior side of a roof. Adding spray foam to wall cavities can also add strength and improve wind resistance. In addition, spray foam can also help the building resist water damage.
