What is it?

As you may already be aware, the U.S. EPA recently announced the eventual phase out of HFCs, such as HFC-245fa and HFC-365mfc, used in many of today’s closed-cell spray foam systems.

Honeywell’s Solstice LBA, an HFO-based foam-blowing agent, is a proven replacement for HFC blowing agents used in closed-cell spray foam systems for roof and wall applications.

Why is it unique?

SPF contractors who have switched to closed-cell SPF – featuring Solstice LBA – are seeing improved yields, superior insulating performance, better sprayability, less gun clogging and a smoother surface finish. Furthermore, minimal processing adjustments are typically required.

Not only can Solstice LBA provide better foam performance, its ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) of one is 99.9 percent lower than the HFCs it replaces, making it an environmentally preferred solution.
